Formed in 1975, Merseyside Coatings Ltd originally operated from Birkenhead fulfilling contracts mainly in the Merseyside area. Fuelled by determined personnel and a respected high quality service, Merseyside Coatings Ltd is now one of the biggest applicators of protective coatings to steel in the UK serving our established national customer base as well as an increasing number of continental clientele. Our factory, located in Widnes, is situated on a 3.5 acre site. It consists of 3 environmentally controlled workshops of approximately 60,000 square feet in all and can handle individual items up to 60 tonnes via overhead cranes. Our largest manual blast bay measures 6.00m high x 6.00m wide and can suit any length.

Coating application is mainly undertaken by airless spraying. We can also thermally apply pure metals and we can apply coatings using the latest plural feed hot airless spray (hydracat) technology. We are specialist applicators of epoxy and thin film intumescent coatings.

Another strength of the company is our established site division. We can repair shop applied coatings systems as well as undertake site blasting and corrosion protection work. Our site division can also apply on-site intumescent coatings and we offer a complete package of fire certification and guarantees. We operate a well organized Quality Assurance structure that regularly exceeds the requirements imposed by the biggest of clientele. Since April 1991, we have based our system on recognised quality management standards including ISO9000. We regularly achieve zero non-compliance from our external customer audits and from other third party organisations.

Also of note is our full compliance to the Environmental legislation that governs solvent emissions to air.
