Sandberg, established in 1860, are the largest, independently owned, specialist materials consultancy in the UK. Operating internationally, the Firm offers specialist consultancy, testing and inspection to a wide range of industries, including construction and off-shore industries. Work includes technical review of proposed coating programs/specifications, inspection and testing during coating application, as well as on-site coating investigations backed up by testing in a UKAS accredited laboratory where required.

Projects have ranged from advising on corrosion protection systems on historic structures such as the Forth Rail Bridge, to consulting on paint systems for the most modern super-yachts. Our clients include government departments and national bodies both in the UK and overseas, as well as other consultants and contractors.

When things have not worked out as intended, we also carry out corrosion and coatings investigations, including where necessary, provision of Expert Witness services from our in-house Consultancy Department.
