The Annual Yorkshire Branch Sunday Lunch
The Annual Yorkshire Branch Sunday Lunch (now traditionally apres Christmas,) was held on 13th January, attended by 19 members including partners and their friends.
The proceedings got under way after a pre lunch soft drink in anticipation of the excellent lunch red and white wine, this year very kindly sponsored by Mr JDC Griffiths of Griffith and Associates.
This year we were in the excellent setting of Aston Hall part of the TOMAHAWK group (and on a similar theme the Red Indian name of GERONIMO was actually used when the numerous bottles of quality wine were seen on a table in the corner of the Library!)
The Yorkshire Branch would like to thank all attendees for what was a very good social and eating / drinking event which lasted nearly 5 hours! The conversations were numerous and spread all round the attending people, thanks this year to an oblong table allowing healthy discussions in all directions. (Shorter lines of communication than last year).
The meal was served in a private room, the library, an excellent setting. Again we would like to thank Dave Griffiths for the wine, this I am sure, assisted in the friendly and lively conversations during the extended luncheon.
We must also thank Aston Hall for a very exciting menu and a quality presentation (slight hick up with the temperature of the plates on some main course - rapidly corrected)
Aston Hall has a new menu for lunch for the Yorkshire branch but some years ago we
did have an evening Christmas do at their excellent venue.
The current chair Dave Greenfield gave a thankfully short after lunch thank you and toast.
We all were particularly happy that Phillip Munn could attend on the day that was also his birthday, congratulations were duly given.
So in all an excellent day enjoyed by all, attended by all the branch officials and
regular attendee to our branch meetings.
Just to add some colloquial to the Yorkshire proceedings - Eee by gum, and dip yer bread in, excellent snap thar noos (spell check persuaded to include this with difficulty) a good time had by all.
Take care,
G.Manning
