The President Writes.
This issue should have been dedicated to women in corrosion, but sadly we only received one response. Is this because there are no women in corrosion, a fact I find hard to believe as I know quite a few, or is it that we are all too busy juggling our private and professional lives that we don't have time to sit down and write an article? Perhaps we are all too modest to want to go into print.

As President, I am not the only female officer of the Institute, our Hon Secretary is Dr Laura Buckley and there have been others before us.

The sale of Corrosion House, which was expected to be completed in January, has been delayed and is now expected to take place in mid April. Inevitably there will be some disruption during the move to our new offices, which will still be in Leighton Buzzard. Further details will be announced when they become available.

We now have an agreement with BSI to sell British Standards, so if you need any they can be obtained directly from the Institute.

Our training courses are going from strength to strength, over 2000 people have completed the Coatings Inspector Courses. There is considerable interest in the new CP training scheme and the ICAT Scheme is very successful. Professional qualifications available to Members of the Institute include Tech.lCorr, MICorr, FICorr, CEng and CSci. If you want to further your career and think that you might qualify for any of the above, details can be obtained from Head Office or the website.

We now have a template for the design of a new website, so the improved website should be up and running before too long.
