Since my election as President in November I have received numerous cards of congratulations and good wishes. I am most grateful to all of you who have sent these and it was wonderful to hear from a number of colleagues and friends that I had lost touch with. It has been a hectic few months, but I think a lot has been achieved and some of this will become evident in the near future. The new Executive Team is working vigorously on a great number of different projects. I would especially like to thank the new Hon. Assistant Secretary, Marian Challis for her refreshing enthusiasm and willingness to take a major role in helping with the organising for the Odyssey 2001, Joint Corrosion Conference with NACE as well as raising student interest.
