Dr Shreir was also a recipient of the UR Evans Award and two further awards have been created in his name. The first is for the best presentation at the Corrosion Science Symposium. The second award is made to a young corrosion engineer.

2004 winner - Christopher Wylie from the University of Birminghham with a talk entitled "Corosion of Nickel-based Dental Casting Alloys"

2003 winner - Adam Michalik from the Plank Institute for Iron Research for a talk entitled "Conductive Polymers for Corrosion Protection: A Critical View"
