The UR Evans Award is the premier award of the Institute and is given to outstanding achievement in "the science and practice of corrosion and it's control". In 2005, the award is being made to Prof Martin Stratmann, Director of the Max Planck institut fur Eisenfor-schung, for his fundamental contributions to the understanding of atmospheric corosion and organic coatings and to the development of novel measurement techniques
