Univeristy of Southampton
CALL FOR PAPERS
The Corrosion Science Division of the Institute of Corrosion
(ICorr) is pleased to invite you to the University of Southampton
for the 51st Corrosion Science Symposium (CSS). The CSS has
been held annually since its launch in 1960 by Prof. L.L. Shreir.
It is an ideal opportunity for students and younger researchers
in corrosion science from across Europe to congregate, discuss
their work, share ideas and, above all, enjoy themselves in a
stimulating environment.
Contributions are invited in all areas of corrosion science and
engineering.
One page abstracts should be submitted via email to:
J.A.Wharton@soton.co.uk
Deadline for receipt of abstracts: Friday 25th June 2010
U.R. Evans Award
The ICorr Evans Award Sword will this year be presented to Professor
Philippe Marcus of in recognition of his outstanding contribution to corrosion science. Philippe Marcus is the Director of the Laboratory of Physical Chemistry of Surfaces at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Chimie de Paris (ENSCP) and Director of Research at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS).
Shreir Prize
The L.L. Shreir Prize is awarded to the best presentation by a student
speaker at the CSS. It is given in honour of Professor Lionel Shreir OBE, a founder member of the Corrosion Science Society, who hosted the first CSS in 1959.
Galloway Medal
Submissions from Young ICorr members of an article for Corrosion Management describing their research are invited, which will be considered for the Galloway Medal, to be presented at the conference.
