Yorkshire

The Yorkshire branch was one the first of the Institute's regional branches after the formation of the British Association of Corrosion Engineers (BACE) in 1959. (BACE was to be the forerunner of the Institute of Corrosion).
 
The first Chairman of the Yorkshire branch committee was RJP Nicklin, a co-founder member of BACE and owner of one of the first UK coating inspection companies located in Sheffield. Ran Nicklin was succeeded as branch chairman by F Dunkley of British Railways and subsequently by various chairman including Dave Griffiths and his brother Ken.   
 
The Yorkshire branch has successfully operated continuously and has in more recent times staged some topical seminars and national conferences that were shown to not only revive and extend membership interest but also to bring healthy annual contributions to the Institute.
 
Today the Yorkshire branch active membership comprises of Dave Griffiths an original member as mentioned above, Bob Akid , David Greenfield and Oliver Lewis from Sheffield University , Phil Munn from Sheffield testing, Bob McGibbon of Technology off shore on shore , Mike Platt  Corrocoat, Rick Simpson form MG Duff , Laura Buckley Scottish and Southern Energy , Roger Hudson Corrosion specialist , and Graeme Manning a Metallurgical consultant. The Yorkshire branch has a strong committee dedicated to their representation and interests.
