Institute of
Corrosion 'Fundamentals of Corrosion' Course
The Professional Development
Committee (PDC) has been working towards a new grade of professional membership
that would be attractive to newly certificated paint and cathodic protection
inspectors and other technically skilled personnel. The concept is that the new
qualification will support younger professional corrosion engineers and enable
them to join the Institute whilst enabling them to gain a Professional
Qualification "TechICorr".
As part of the revised career
structure, and in conjunction with three commercial course providers, ICorr has
developed a two-day basic practical training syllabus covering the basic
aspects of corrosion technology, which it is appropriate that all practising
corrosion engineers are familiar. The course is self-contained and prepares
candidates for a short (1-hour) compulsory examination, which is taken in
tandem with the training activities.
Candidates wishing to apply for
the course should contact ICorr Headquarters at Corrosion House, 4 Vimy Court,
Leighton Buzzard, Beds. LU7 1FG
