THE ANNUAL ICORR YORKSHIRE BRANCH POST CHRISTMAS SUNDAY LUNCH 2010

The lunch was held at The Brooklands Restaurant, Holiday Inn, Barnsley on Sunday 17th January and was attended by 16 members including partners.

On probably the first blizzard free day of the new year, we were all probably beginning to wonder if the Barnsley Chop was going to “get the chop” due to the recent horrendous weather, however the sun shone on the day and we were guaranteed our feast !

After social drinks in the bar, our 3 course meal was served on
a large oblong table in the restaurant. We had most of the room
to ourselves as due to the recent inclement weather most
people had probably stayed at home in front of the fire, a
tough bunch us ICORR lot.........it was the prospect of more
nosh more like !!

There has to be one to be Greedy Guts...Rick succumbed to the
Barnsley Chop which at 34 oz is no mean feat! To polish off a
starter as well, made us all wonder if Sandy feeds him at home.
Full marks for effort.

A few regular members could not attend due to work commitments, Dave Griffiths had some lame excuse about running a training course in Malaysia and that the time difference and the Argyll and Ruane private jet being unavailable meant that he couldn’t make it.
No commitment these Paint Inspectors !!!
Graeme had some home brew he had to watch during the last stages of fermentation and the wheels on the Mustang needed a polish in between. ‘Nuff said.

The current Chair Dave Greenfield gave a thank you
for our attendance and a brief resume of the previous year
and looking forward to a proactive 2010.

After desserts and coffee we all decided to retire before we
were trapped by more of the white stuff.

An excellent afternoon enjoyed by all the regular
branch members, newcomers and partners.

Suggestions for next year’s venue ???

Best regards

Nigel
