(APS) is a 15 year old company headquartered in the research Triangle area of North Carolina. Their mission is to be the leading provider of innovative atmospheric plasma solutions for a broad range of emerging applications in defence and commercial markets. \nAPS has perfected the delivery of plasma at atmospheric pressures using only compressed air and electricity. The company’s flagship PlasmaBlast precision surface preparation system can remove coatings\, clean surfaces and promotes adhesion that results in lower job costs\, improves worker safety\, and increases environmental safety. The PlasmaBlast is a complement to all replacement for abrasive blast cleaning\, laser\, or water jetting methods and has been proven to work above and below water.\nThe company systems are in use on four continents by customers including\, but not limited to\, the U.S. Navy\, US Army\, pharmaceutical manufacturers\, and fortune 100 firms. Additionally\, APS conducts advanced atmospheric plasma research in partnership with private company’s federal agencies and leading research universities. \nUnique Advantages: \n• Utilizes Patented Cold Plasma Technology\n• Removes coatings effectively with zero substrate damage\n• Demonstrated up to 90% labour savings\n• Sealed system handles harsh environments and temperatures from -30F to 105F\n• Protective frame incorporates 8 isolation dampers\n• Only requires air and electricity\n• Hand-held\, ergonomic precision pen — No vibrational impact on operator\n• Media and chemical free \nBiography:\nGlenn Astolfi is President of Atmospheric Plasma Solutions\, Inc.\, that manufactures atmospheric plasma coating removal systems. Prior to joining APS\, Glenn led a staff of 155 people as CEO/President of Gateway Bank Mortgage (subsidiary of XBKS formerly HMPR). Prior to being sold to Union Bank this company was a residential mortgage lender operating in seven states with origination volume in excess of $1 Billion annually. SUMMARY:Corrosion under Insulation - Review of Coatings Standards NACE T516 and ISO19277
DESCRIPTION:The meeting will take place on 29th of November\, at the Rosen Group starting at 6pm for networking followed by a presentation / discussion at 6.30pm delivered by Neil Wilds\, a thought leader in coatings for corrosion under insulation. \nNeil has 32yrs experience in Coatings Industry working on high solids epoxies/ testing and CUI/Insulation Coatings. Currently Technical Marketing Manager for Sherwin Williams and a committee member on TG516 Standard Practice for Evaluating Protective Coatings for Use Under Insulation. \nPresentation Overview: \nThere have been many iterations of test methods from coatings’ companies over the last 10-15 yrs looking at prequalification of CUI coatings. To a large extent this has not been standardised and accepted by the major Oil & Gas end users. Therefore over the last 3-4 years two CUI test method/prequalification standards have been worked on to solve this issue. This presentation will go through these tests methods and will hopefully raise some good conversation which can then be taken back to the standards committees.
