SUMMARY:Aberdeen Branch Event - Joint Meeting with IOM3/MIS
DESCRIPTION:Date: 24/11/2020 \nEvent Type: Joint Meeting with IOM3/MIS \nSpeaker: Professor Debra Carr – Defence and Security Accelerator. DASA Scotland Innovation Partner. \nTopic: Body armour: why\, how and what (from)? : A provocative presentation to get you thinking “out of the box”: An excellent opportunity to hear from a Materials Technology Expert\, from out with our own Industry. Advanced body armour is not just relevant for military people and we should consider its’ deployment in partnership with ROV’s or Inspection Tasks / NII and all types of Surveillance Drones\, so that we can operate in more effectively in hostile and production sensitive environments? Materials used for body armour have recently been re-purposed as Blast protection sheets and are already being used on the Drill floor to allow High pressure testing of Drilling well control equipment to take place concurrent with other operations thereby saving significant time and money – could this approach be applied elsewhere? Are there more tasks where personnel could be using modified body armour? \nTime: 18:00: Finish* at 19:30 \nThis Webinar Event is Free and Open to all ICorr/IOM3/MIS Members / Non – Members. Please register now for Event by email\, stating Member / Non Member to: amirattarchi@gmail.com
