ICorr/PFPNet Fire Protection Coatings Inspector Level 3

The purpose of this NEW course is to train and examine senior Inspectors of epoxy intumescent Passive Fire Protection (PFP) on all aspects of the inspection of common types of epoxy coatings used to protect against hydrocarbon fires on installations for both on and offshore facilities.

Protective Coatings Inspector – Level 1

This course is designed to prepare individuals for the ICorr Protective Coatings Inspector Level 1 examination. The course is suitable for candidates with or without experience in industrial painting or inspection and will also be applicable to those who require a knowledge of painting inspection but do not wish to take an examination. Most of the paint systems used in industry are addressed plus an awareness is given of other coating systems used for anti-corrosion reasons.

Protective Coatings Inspector – Level 2

This course is designed to prepare ICorr Level 1 Protective Coatings Inspector for the Level 2 examination. Any information in the syllabus below, which is repeated from the Level 1 syllabus, is dealt with in greater depth and in some cases involves practical usage of equipment, e.g. use of density cups, flow cups, contamination testing and using electromagnetic d.f.t. instruments with statistical capabilities.

Protective Coatings Inspector – Level 3

This course is designed to prepare ICorr Level 2 Protective Coatings Inspector for the Level 3 examination. Quality assurance, specification analysis and procedure writing are the main aspects of a Level 3 training course. Corrosion and paint technology are two areas dealt with to a greater depth compared to Level 2.

Insulation Inspector – Level 2

This course is designed to prepare individuals for the ICorr Insulation Inspector Level 2 examination. This course assumes all candidates hold an ICorr Painting Inspector approval (any level) and therefore have some knowledge of inspection philosophy. Some corrosion and coating knowledge is also important for the insulation inspector due to the large amount of corrosion problems which have arisen under insulation. Inspection of both thermal (hot and cold) insulation and acoustic insulation is covered and is applicable to pipework, vessels and equipment used in the gas, oil and process industries.

Pipeline Coatings Inspector – Level 2

This course is designed to prepare individuals for the ICorr Pipeline Coatings Inspector Level 2 examination. Inspection of coatings (over fifteen types) applied in both the factory and field are addressed. The 5 day course is suitable for all candidates. A 3 day version is available for ICorr Painting Inspectors who do not want to revisit the subject areas common to both Painting Inspection and Pipeline Coating Inspection.

Cathodic Protection Concrete ISO Level 1

These ICorr courses and examination are in compliance with ISO 15257:2017 and are suitable for candidates without experience in cathodic protection, but candidates are expected to have some site experience in concrete repairs and in they may have been a part of teams installing CP systems in concrete.

Senior Cathodic Protection Engineer ICorr Level 4 in the Buried, Marine, Concrete and Internals Sectors to BS EN ISO 15257:2017

There are no training courses for Senior Cathodic Protection Engineer Level 4, training is by experience, in particular of detailed design and complex field work, which is expected to be directed by existing Level 4 personnel. Certification is by Peer Review and Interview.

ICorr now offer a Level 4 exam for the On-land, Marine and Concrete sectors. The exams are held at the Telford Training Centre and are booked to order. Please allow a minimum of six weeks from registering an interest in a level 4 exam, as each will be arranged individually. Once the exam has been passed, the applicant can then progress to the formal application and peer review stages.
