Cathodic Protection Technician – Marine Metallic Structures – Level 1

Why attend this course?

Certification of cathodic protection personnel is a requirement for the cathodic protection industry throughout Europe in accordance with BS EN 15257. This course and examination, for Level 1 Technicians, are in compliance with BS EN 15257 and are suitable for candidates with or without experience in cathodic protection but note that full certification to the level requires a minimum duration of approval experience. The course is also suitable for those who merely require an appreciation of the protection of Marine Metallic Structures without pursuing certification.

Course content

The topics of this course are fully set out and described in S EN 15257 for Level 1 at Annex B1 and B3 and cover the application of Cathodic Protection (CP) to the following structures.

  • Harbours
  • Wharves, pilings and walls
  • Jetties
  • Offshore pipeline (submerged and buried)
  • Subsea structures
  • Offshore platforms
  • Ship external hulls
